As We Go Through Life . . .

We have to be able to follow our hearts. Yes, our hearts can and will lead us astray, but at the end of the day we can’t rely of good advice (no matter how good), we can’t rely on what other people want us to do, and when God isn’t saying much, then what? Follow your heart! That is what I have to say today. Too many times, we as Christians get caught thinking too much. There is an element of life that MUST be thought through, but there is another element that you HAVE to learn how to chase those things that you know will make you happy. We need to feel more. Learn how to experience life more. Follow your heart! Trust God with it! Embrace the Kingdom!

Bono Preaches the Gospel

Here is an excerpt from Bono: In Conversation. My mother sent me this, this morning. This is just such a great, simple and powerful synopsis of what is means to be a Christian. I was listening to their Vertigo Tour opening show in San Deigo and Bono is singing One (or trying to over the crowds off-key voices) and he sings the line, “Have you come here to play Jesus” and then adlibs with a chuckle, “‘Cause I did.” And with that one tiny line, he has nailed what we should all strive for. We strive to be good Christians and yada yada yada, when all we should do it come here and play Jesus. This is what makes Bono, Bono.

Friends Are Friends Forever . . .

I was talking to a friend of mine and you know what we realized? We noticed an alarming tendency of Christianity – Christians don’t have really good friends! What is the deal with this? I have noticed that Christians have a hard time just hanging out. We do things together, but when was the last time that you just had a great group of people that you KNEW had your back no matter what? From my observation, Christians have a hard time finding and keeping good friends. I think that there are a lot of reasons for this. I think we are too serious as Christians. I think we judge and compare all the time. And I don’t think that we are very real and if you are never real you will never have relationships. To me this is a problem and one that I am going to do everything that I can to fix.

“They will know we are Christians by our love.” We need to be setting the standard for friendships and relationships. People need to be looking to Christians for successful friendships, not Seinfeld and Friends. Why do I say this? We HAVE something. We have something huge. We have purpose and passion. But now we just need to learn to be ourselves and chill out with people.

Radio Shack Story from TMC via Google News

Lying on a resume. No big deal? Or it could cost you the CEO to lose your job. Character is a big deal. Ask this dude. Thanks to Googlenews for this story.

I will reiterate to all of you something that we said a lot in AuXano:

Do not let your gifts take you somewhere that your character won’t keep you.

About a week ago, some friends and I ended up in a fascinating conversation over MSN Messenger. We were talking to this fairly random guy from Quebec who is a Jehovah’s Witness. Now we had an interesting conversation, it included angels and purpose and so on. But I realized that I didn’t know very much about his religion. So, I decided to look around a little bit and find a good resource for that kind of thing. I actually found two. One was passed on by a friend and the other I discovered. They are both very very good sites that you can use to know what you are talking about. Because please do not go out there and act like a stupid Christian. Know what you are talking about, please for all of our sake.
