Drastic Measures

Ok, so for about the 8th time over the past couple of weeks, I have found something sweet online in the evening and by the time the next morning rolls around and I am at my office, low and behold. . . can’t find it again. So, what does this mean? It means that today, I am going to delete all of my bookmarks.

Apparently, bookmarks have become a way for me to acknowledge that a site was once sort of cool, but never return. . . Today, this changes. I am clearing house! Saving what is good. Pitching what isn’t and trying to get organized. My inbox is clean. My desktop immaculate.

What does your bookmark folder look like?

My Afternoon . . . Rocked

What a great stinking afternoon! I spent it locked in a conference room plotting to take over the world . . . Well, revolutionize the youth culture of Denver! It was awesome. I am a part of the best youth team in the entire world! What an afternoon! We planned out basically the next year of our youth ministry! Here are some pics.

The breakfast, lunch and dinner of champions.

Hey, I tried to make this one kind of artsy, did it work?

“If the Christian church loses this generation, it will be not because we didn’t entertain them, but because we didn’t dare them… didn’t actually challenge them to think about how they live.”

Funerals

There are two people that I do not understand who attend funerals.

1. Hawaiian Shirt Guy

At some point in this man’s life, he did one of two things… Either he said, “screw it, I don’t give a crap anymore. I am going to always wear this shirt.” Or he is actually thinking in his head, “this looks good, I look good. This is good.” I have news my friend, it is not ok. It is not ok to wear a hawaiian shirt with khaki shorts from Kohl’s with penny loafers to a man’s funeral. On one hand, I am glad that you are there for him, on the other hand you are embrassing all of his other friends. Just stop coming. Or, here’s a thought, buy some slacks. I know it is crazy, but give it a shot.

2. Mini Skirt Chick

Ok, at the very least she is wearing black. Albeit, not very much of it. She is 20, maybe 21. Blonde. Above average in the looks department. Far subpar in the common sense department. What the crap are you doing wearing that skirt in public, let alone a man’s funeral. This does not make sense to me. The 3″ heels. Really? You think of yourself as adorable. I think of you as a complete attention whore, with no sense of decency.

That is all.

Silver and Gold

Have you ever heard Malachi 3:3 preached? In Master’s we would talk about this all the time, that God would put you on the fire sometimes and in that way allow the filthy stuff to surface so that He could strip it away, thereby purifying you. Oh my gosh. I have been put on the fire. Earlier this week, I talked about not losing well. Today, well… let’s just say that some stuff rose to the surface.

Football was not good. I totally lost it. I acted like a complete ass. It was bad. On my stewing drive home after I stormed off the field, I looked in the rear view and said to myself, “you have a problem.”

This week, I need to deal with some internal issues. I need to forgive some people whom I haven’t forgiven. I need to get quiet and let God deal with some heart issues that are causing me problems. I have some problems seeing myself as valuable when I don’t succeed. I have major problems seeing myself for anything other than what I do for people. I need this to go away. I need to see myself through God’s eyes and through His word.

Lord, help me.

I do not get credit for this one. Mark came up with the idea and got the footage. I stumbled around with Final Cut until it gave up and just shot out the video I was trying to accomplish out of pity for my skills.

We shot a time lapse of Catalyst last night. I think it is fun. Shelley’s commitment is something that all of us should aspire too. She was in the shot for over 20 minutes. Purely awesome.
