Funerals

There are two people that I do not understand who attend funerals.

1. Hawaiian Shirt Guy

At some point in this man’s life, he did one of two things… Either he said, “screw it, I don’t give a crap anymore. I am going to always wear this shirt.” Or he is actually thinking in his head, “this looks good, I look good. This is good.” I have news my friend, it is not ok. It is not ok to wear a hawaiian shirt with khaki shorts from Kohl’s with penny loafers to a man’s funeral. On one hand, I am glad that you are there for him, on the other hand you are embrassing all of his other friends. Just stop coming. Or, here’s a thought, buy some slacks. I know it is crazy, but give it a shot.

2. Mini Skirt Chick

Ok, at the very least she is wearing black. Albeit, not very much of it. She is 20, maybe 21. Blonde. Above average in the looks department. Far subpar in the common sense department. What the crap are you doing wearing that skirt in public, let alone a man’s funeral. This does not make sense to me. The 3″ heels. Really? You think of yourself as adorable. I think of you as a complete attention whore, with no sense of decency.

That is all.

Josh,
I think this is awfully harsh. #1: You’d better be prepared to say this to those people’s faces, because very likely this will get back to them and could hurt some feelings or cause conflict. #2: You have much more to offer your blog than these kinds of judgmental comments. It’s beneath you, I think. So that’s a few words from your mom…

On another note…in Nebraska, when we went to my friend Jim’s funeral…on a football Saturday…need I say more??? A couple in jean shorts and tennies wearing matching Husker t-shirts won the award for tacky, funeral attire in my book. At least they probably made it to the game in time….
